University Library of Vienna
The University Library of Vienna is the largest library in Austria as well as the oldest university
library of all the German speaking countries: it was founded in 1365. Since 2004 the University Library, consisting of the main library and at present 40 division libraries and the University Archives, form an organisational unit.
The University Library of Vienna is a university library that mirrors the diversity of the different disciplines at Vienna University; the collection is being continuously updated and extended with reference to the requirements of research, teaching and studies. The current collection comprises more than 7 million books, 47,000 e-books, 62,000 e-journals and 1,300 data bases.
