“Earning his bread by the sweat of his brow is not for the Jew”, caricature from Kikeriki of 13 September 1883

This anti-Semitic caricature (published in the satirical magazine Kikeriki of 13 September 1883) expresses the relationship between anti-Semitism and commercial accusations. It takes up the prejudice that Jews were not capable of physical work and instead pursued trade to the detriment of farmers and craftsmen.
