Frankfurt University Library

With its extensive collections of 9 million media units (as of 2013) the University Library of Frankfurt on the Main is among the central academic libraries of the Federal Republic of Germany. It combines the role of an academic library for the city of Frankfurt and the Rhine Main Area with that of a university library with various obligations for the federal state as well as that of a core theme library within the nationwide provision of literature. Among its many collection emphases there is also its collection of Judaica which continuously acquires new publications on all areas of post-biblical Judaism from all over the world and in all languages with funding by the DFG (German Research Foundation), such as on rabbinical literature, on Jewish history, philosophy, art and fiction. Another emphasis is on the modern state of Israel.
