Franz Kolarz: The Coronation of Franz Joseph as King of Hungary in St Matthew’s church in Buda on 8 June 1867, drawing, 1867

The ceremonial coronation, whose most important constitutional element was the taking of the Coronation Oath on the Hungarian Constitution, sealed the Austrian-Hungarian Compromise and put the Habsburg Empire on a new basis.
