29th sketchbook by Maximilian Liebenwein

The Art Nouveau painter Maximilian Liebenwein produced a total of 54 sketchbooks during his military service. He thus documented his various impressions from everyday life on the front, produced landscape studies, portrayed the population, drew soldiers and many of the horses under his care. The 29th sketchbook was finished between 17 and 22 July 1917 in Rachiw (today Ukraine).
